Ex Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission today, 8th May, 2013. He was picked up from his Abuja residence.
Security aides of the former governor refused granting access to the officers of EFCC saying that Mr. Timipre was absent, but after insisting that they want to conduct thorough search, the security aides had to option than to allow them.
After careful search, the former governor was found hiding in a dingy corner in the upper chamber of his expansive mansion. He was immediately whisked away and currently undergoing interrogations at the Abuja headquarters of the anti-graft agency.
He is being grilled in connection with fresh evidence linking him with a bouquet of fraudulent transactions that borders around money laundering, and part of the new evidence includes a number of eye-popping real estates acquisitions in Abuja.
Hmm...it is well with all these politicians.
